Gobbledygook

by Macy Johnson

“If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels,

but have not love,

I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.”

(1 Corinthians 13:1 NIV)

I confessed to the Lord while writing to Him early one morning, “Only you can reveal the Truth. My words are gobbledygook.” Oxford Dictionary defines gobbledygook as “language that is meaningless or is made unintelligible by excessive use of technical terms; nonsense.” My words are fruitless without the Holy Spirit to interpret them in the heart of the reader.

Allen Levi is a gifted storyteller/musician. His book, Theo of Golden, takes place in a fictional town in central Georgia. In the story, Theo touches the lives of the town’s citizens by presenting them with portraits drawn by a local resident. Theo is a catalyst to bring the people together. He reminds them “to give is better than to receive.”

I receive guidance from the Holy Spirit to create God Sightings. He takes my gobbledygook and draws a picture with words for me to give to those who will receive it. One of Theo’s gifts was not well received and ended up destroyed under the recipient’s boot. I humbly know there are God Sightings’ readers who laugh at my words and push them aside.

God recently asked me to distribute God Sightings books with no strings attached, like Theo did. So, if you see a copy of God Sightings, think of Jesus, who gave me the words and the courage to place the book there. He uses unconventional means to reach His children and give them a big hug.

I am honored to sometimes be the hugger. And I am so thankful God makes my gobbledygook crystal clear to attentive readers.

I will speak and write only His words of Truth. I hope you will, too!
