“What I tell you in the dark,
speak in the daylight;
what is whispered in your ear,
proclaim from the roofs.”
(Matthew 10:27 NIV)
One of my
greatest joys is to be able to type on my computer. Several years ago, I was
diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my right thumb. Pain in my hand forced me to
give up a mouse and use my laptop’s touchpad instead. I wondered if someday I
would need to give up typing. I hoped there would be a technology at that time
that would allow me to speak and type words for me.
My husband
could not login to his aging Chromebook, so we took it to Best Buy. A Geek
Squad technician confirmed Jeff’s computer was unfixable. A little voice told
me to get in the car, drive across the busy highway to Costco, and see what was
there to replace Jeff’s beloved computer.
We walked
up to a Dell Inspiron, the same computer as I have. To our surprise, it was less
expensive than mine was, although 7 years newer! We brought it home and quickly
set it up. Jeff discovered many Windows features I did not know existed,
including speech-to-text with correct punctuation. I learned something new.
According
to Google: When you speak into a computer and it types your words, it is
called speech-to-text. This technology converts spoken words into
digital text.
I could
hear the Holy Spirit say, “You asked for it – you got it!” What a pleasant
surprise. God gave me the desire years ago and then led me to it, just like
Jeff and I were led directly to that new laptop in Costco.
I will trust
my heavenly Father to provide for all my needs and even some of my wants. I
hope you will, too!
