Divine Interruption

 by Macy Johnson

“She came up behind Jesus

and touched the edge of his cloak,

and immediately her bleeding stopped.”

(Luke 8:44 NIV)

My husband and I packed up the camper to leave Georgia’s Elijah Clark State Park. I put all the inside items into secure places, while Jeff turned off the water and retracted the stabilizer bars. Suddenly he noticed a young toddler wandering down the busy roadway that connected the camp sites.

Drop in the Bucket

by Macy Johnson

“If you have faith as small as a mustard seed,

you can say to this mountain,

‘Move from here to there’ and it will move.”

(Matthew 17:20 NIV)

We pulled our camper into Georgia’s Elijah Clark State Park for the first time. A sea of tents with a smattering of trailers filled the waterside campground. After we situated the trailer into our reserved campsite my husband plugged in the electric power. He then turned on the water. Nothing! We looked at each other and Jeff said, “Call the office.”

Fallen Branches

by Macy Johnson

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.

He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit,

while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes

so that it will be even more fruitful.”

(John 15:1-2 NIV)

It was a hot Saturday afternoon in early September. Jeff, my husband, and John, our son-in-law, lounged in our air-conditioned house and watched a college football game. My daughter, Libby, and I sat on the dock and watched her children swim and play in the lake.

Exploration

 by Macy Johnson

“I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me;

I was found by those who did not seek me.”

(Isaiah 65:1 NIV)

In the mid 1800’s two ships set sail from England. They were assigned the task of discovering the Northwest Passage from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean. All was lost within two years. Their tragic story is depicted in the AMC drama series “The Terror.”
