“Let us then approach the throne of
grace with confidence,
so that we may receive mercy
and find grace to help us in our time
of need.”
(Hebrews 4:16 NIV)
Jesus is
in our heavenly Father’s throne room, seated next to Him. He is our Advocate
and our Judge. He is our Redeemer and Refuge.
Many years
ago, I approached my mother in our kitchen. She sat in a chair next to our
telephone table where books were piled next to the phone. She was an avid
reader of everything, but especially fond of her Bible and commentaries. I told
her I believed we are in God’s throne room when we talk to Him. She agreed.
I recently
watched a video that asserted my belief. E. W. Kenyon presented this same
Truth. He taught that the Holy Spirit escorts believers into the presence of
the Father and the Son in their throne room.
I can imagine
driving my car while seated in the throne room, lying in His arms in the throne
room, and walking through a garden in the throne room. Nothing we do is done
apart from our Creator God. The moment I pray or think of Jesus, I realize I am
with Him wherever He is, even in heaven, even next to His throne.
When I sit
at my computer and type a letter to Jesus, I picture myself next to Him,
already in His presence. He knows my words before I type them. Perhaps He looks
over my shoulder. I believe He is closer than that. He gives me the words to
give back to Him.
“Exalt the Lord our God
and worship at His footstool;
He is holy.”
(Psalm 99:5 NIV)
I will joyfully obey His call to worship Him in His throne room. I hope you will, too!
