“Are not two sparrows sold for a penny?
Yet not one of them will fall to the
ground
apart from the will of your Father.”
(Matthew 10:29 NIV)
The Global
Positioning System (GPS) is a U.S.-owned utility that provides users with
positioning, navigation, and timing services. This system in Google Maps allows
my husband and me to track each other on our cell phones.
Jeff followed
me on his phone while I drove our granddaughter to Birmingham one afternoon. My
drive home a week later kept me on edge. Navigating through Atlanta, even after
making the same trip weekly for many years as an auditor, always drains my
resolve. Stormy weather accompanied this particular trip as early-evening darkness
closed in.
When fear
crept into my thoughts I sang the tune, “When I am afraid, I will trust in
you.” Music always lightens my heart and cleanses my spirit. I knew God and His
angels were clearing the path for me, even when I couldn’t see the cars ahead.
I made it home safely an hour late, because of traffic delays. Jeff met me at
the door and said, “My phone shows you are stopped at the sheriff’s office.”
My phone’s
GPS had stopped working properly when I turned the corner at the Morgan County
Sheriff’s Department. Jeff was concerned something had happened. I laughed at
the thought. I remembered the turn. It was so dark I couldn’t see the road, but
God told me to keep on going with windshield washers on high.
I am never
out of range with God. His GPS never stops working. He always knows exactly
where I am, because He is with me. I have nothing to fear or worry about.
I will trust
God to keep me safe even as dangers swirl around me. I hope you will, too!
