“The lamp of the Lord searches the
spirit of a man;
it searches out his inmost being.”
(Proverbs 20:27 NIV)
The Holy
Spirit leads me to places where He wants to serve with me. He knows what others
need before I do. He searches their spirits and leads me to be a blessing to
them.
Our son’s seven-year-old
son visited us for two weeks this summer. He attended our church’s vacation
Bible school and asked questions about my relationship with my heavenly Father.
We talked about my daily love letters to God. As I explained the layout of each
chapter in God Sightings, Noah asked me to title this chapter, “God
Bless You!”
“God Bless
You!” reminded me of my trip to Peru to visit one of my Compassion
International children, Mario. I wanted to be able to tell people I would meet
that God loved them. I asked a hotel employee what I could say in their
language that would bless others. He suggested I greet them with “Dios te
bendiga!” which is “God Bless You!” in Spanish. I believed I was sent to Peru
for a special assignment known only to God.
All people
on earth were dreamed of by God and created to be a blessing to those around them.
My mother often reminded me of this fact. She was a wonderful example of putting
the needs of others before my own.
Nothing in
my life is hidden from my heavenly Father. He searches my thoughts long before
I even have them and weaves them into a beautiful, unique tapestry that will
bless people around me. He then tells me to go and serve in His kingdom in His
stead.
I will try
to be a blessing to others today as the Holy Spirit guides and blesses me. I
hope you will, too!
