“Throwing his cloak aside,
he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.”
(Mark 10:50 NIV)
Bank of
America declined my Norton/LifeLock renewal charge and sent me a fraud alert
via text and email. The bank claimed it was suspicious activity. The same
amount has been automatically charged for my annual renewal to this card on the
same day of the year for the past decade. Yet, I had to jump through a hoop
this year to approve the charge.
Social
Security sent me an email to instruct me to go to their website and read a
message. To set up added security for my account, I needed to add two extra
steps to my login. In frustration I resigned, “I am not jumping through that
hoop today!”
My cell phone
rang when I was at the hospital gift shop entering received inventory into their
computer system. I let the call roll to voice mail. The message relayed, “Did
you authorize a large purchase on your Amazon account? Press 1 now to speak to
a representative.” I deleted the message. My bank will alert me to any suspicious
charges. Another distracting hoop was avoided.
We all
hate being told to “jump through hoops” to receive something we need or want. As
I relayed these incidences to my husband, I lamented I must trust someone
sometimes. “Trust is hard to come by these days,” Jeff replied.
All
difficult experiences come from the hands of our loving heavenly Father who
sent His Son to the cross for us. He alone provides obvious blessings and
sometimes blessings in disguise! I must look beyond the obstacles.
I will
trust my Lord to help me jump through all the hoops and help me to land on my
feet at His throne. I hope you will, too!
