October 10 - The Word

 

“John, the Baptizer, testifies concerning him.

He cries out, saying, ‘This was he of whom I said,

‘He who comes after me has surpassed me

because he was before me.’”

(John 1:15 NIV)

 

John the Baptizer was a cousin of Jesus, born before Jesus’ birth. Yet he announced that Jesus came before he was born.

“In the beginning was the Word,

and the Word was with God,

and the Word was God.”

(John 1:1 NIV)
